The Volusia Sheriff’s Office announced on Wednesday that they’d arrested a DeLand resident accused of trafficking cocaine out of his home. Large amounts of drugs and cash were seized in the raid, and 29-year-old Freddie Bryant was arrested on five criminal charges. According to the VSO, a search warrant was obtained for an apartment at 700 Integra Dune Circle in DeLand, where Bryant was suspected of running his operation. Upon entering the apartment, deputies reportedly located and seized 60 grams of cocaine that was hidden in a couch. After that, however, they found an even bigger haul in a more well-chosen hiding spot. Within Bryant’s dryer vent hose, the VSO says, they found a supply of cash that was counted at $52,388. Multiple large stacks of bills were shared in a photo to the VSO’s social media, showing dozens upon dozens of hundred dollar bills, plus a substantial amount of fifties and twenties. Bryant was arrested and charged with an outstanding warrant for sale/delivery of cocaine, plus new charges of cocaine trafficking, oxycodone possession, renting a structure for drug sales, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail on Tuesday with a total bond of $57,000. Unfortunately for Bryant, he will not be able to use the money allegedly stashed in his dryer vent hose to pay his bond.
