DeLand, FL – In the city of DeLand, Santa Claus does things a little differently. Instead of everything happening on one day, Santa Claus is scheduled to visit several neighborhoods across the city. The DeLand Christmas Tree Lighting this Friday, December 3, will be Santa Claus’ first appearance. That will happen at City Hall at 5:30 p.m. He’ll then travel to Pioneer Park in downtown DeLand for a wreath lighting ceremony as a part of the City of DeLand and MainStreet DeLand Association’s “Winter Wonderland DeLand” holiday display. The reindeer are resting up for Christmas Eve, so Santa will be traveling aboard the city’s trusty steed (“The Sutherland” antique fire truck) for his trips through the city.
