A nun in Chicago raised over $100,000 for her church’s food bank by running a full marathon on a treadmill. Her name is Sister Stephanie Baliga, and she ran Division 1 track in college. She finished in 3 hours and 33 minutes, and it might be a treadmill world record for women. A few other nuns were there with her. And former Olympic runner Deena Kastor offered commentary on Zoom, along with the owner of a running shoe store called Fleet Feet. At the end, they tried to set the scene by describing what Stephanie would have been seeing if she was running the actual Chicago Marathon.
