Remember at the 2015 “VMAs”, when KANYE WEST announced that he would run for president in 2020? Well, on Saturday, he “announced” that he’s in.
He Tweeted, quote, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States!” He ended the post with an American flag and the hashtag “2020 Vision”.
And, if this matters to you, ELON MUSK quickly replied, “You have my full support!”
People are already suggesting that Kanye is doing this to suck the black vote away from JOE BIDEN and help his buddy DONALD TRUMP. But it’s not really clear if Kanye is still on the Trump Train.
After cosplaying as a Trump supporter for a while . . . MAGA hat and all . . . Kanye later said, quote, “My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in.
“I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative!!!”
If Kanye IS serious, and this isn’t just a publicity stunt, he has some catching up to do . . . assuming he runs as an independent, which seems like his only choice at this point.
The election is only four months away, and he’s already missed the deadline to get on the ballot in six states: Texas, North Carolina, New York, Maine, New Mexico and Indiana. So he could only be a write-in candidate there.
In order to get on the ballot as an independent in the remaining states, he’d have to get thousands of signatures before their registration deadlines in August and September.
