Marine Turtle Tots The Marine Science Center has reopened and is starting up their Marine Turtle Tots monthly program on Wednesday and Thursday mornings for children ages 2-5. The program will start at 10am for both days, and there’s a virtual option for Thursdays at noon! Here kids can learn about Florida’s marine life, listen to stories and do arts & crafts. You and baby can do sun salutations every Monday at 11:30 AM at Old Fort Park in New Smyrna Beach. Mom & Me yoga is geared towards moms with babies but all moms and children are welcome. Classes are an hour long, instructed under the shade of beautiful trees, and wait for the best part…it’s free (but donations are accepted)! Police Explorers, an ongoing program affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America aims to develop a stronger understanding between the community and police as well as provide real experience in law enforcement to young adults that are thinking about pursuing a career in the field. This program gives the chance for high schoolers to gain community service hours and view demonstrations from specialized units like K-9 and CrimeScene and Motors. The program is restricted to high schoolers between 14 and 18 years old, who are currently enrolled or home schooled, with a minimum GPA at of 2.5. Permission from parent/guardian is required. You can pick up take-home craft kits, brain games, or seeds for gardens!
