38-year-old Patrick Rose, a resident of Deltona, has been arrested in connection to a fraud scheme affecting victims across the country, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office announced on Wednesday. He was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail on thirteen criminal charges. The investigation that led to Rose’s arrest began when, according to the VSO, they received notice from Synchrony Bank that credit accounts with Lowe’s were being used for purchases in the area. Detectives identified Rose, and now claim he was using the Lowe’s mobile app to buy products using stolen accounts with other customers’ credit. Along with the investigation into Rose’s alleged fraud, the VSO also reached the determination that he was operating as a drug dealer out of two places: his Deltona residence and his DeLand music recording studio, referred to as ‘Fearles Muzik’ in the VSO’s statement. A search warrant was obtained for both locations, and subsequently served. In searching Rose’s two suspected places of operation, detectives reportedly found blank and stolen credit cards and driver’s licenses, a printer which was used to forge such items, as well as bank documents, a credit card re-encoder, and the personal data of several victims across the United States. For his alleged fraud activity, Rose was charged with possession of a credit card making machine, the usage of others’ ID without consent, counterfeit credit card possession, and organized scheme to defraud over $50,000. Additionally, Rose was charged with five counts of possession of weapons or ammunition by a convicted felon, controlled substance possession, drug paraphernalia possession, and cannabis possession with intent to sell.
