The Daytona Beach Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting on School Street, the agency announced on Friday. Little information has been made available as of Saturday morning, but the DBPD has confirmed one victim has died of their injuries. Police were dispatched to the 700 block of School Street at around 11:50 a.m. on Friday. They were informed someone had been shot. Daytona police officers and emergency medical personnel began administering life-saving care to the victim. Tragically, they did not survive. No suspect has been named, and the DBPD has not specified whether there is ongoing danger to the community. An investigation remains active and ongoing as of Saturday. Members of the public have been asked to avoid the area of the shooting while law enforcement investigates.
