Daytona Beach, FL – Crews from Volusia & Flagler were busy tending to a wildfire that broke out in Daytona Beach on Wednesday. The Florida Forest Service in Bunnell said a fire broke out around 3:30 in the afternoon off of Tournament Drive and encompassed about 80 acres of brush. Firefighting crews from both Volusia and Flagler were called in to battle the fire. By almost 7:00 that evening, the fire was said to have been 100 percent contained to just 129 acres. No structures were in danger during initial reports of the fire, and there are no reports of any damage to structures following the fire. We will pass along updates if they are made available.
